I was honoured to recently take part in a master class with soprano Jane Marsh, hosted by the Metropolitan Opera Guild, exploring three different types of tenor voices. The term ‘tenor’ was created in relation to classical and operatic voices, where classification is not only based on a singer’s vocal range, but also vocal weight and colour.
